TechFlow news, according to Cointelegraph, the U.S. Secret Service's San Francisco Field Office and the Bay Area Regional Law Enforcement Joint Computer Task Force (REACT) hosted an AMA session on Reddit. While some regulators still view cryptocurrency as a tool for fraudsters and scammers, the REACT task force praised blockchain's public and transparent nature, noting that it makes tracking criminal fund flows easier.
In addition, when asked whether they hold cryptocurrencies and understand deeper mechanisms of the crypto world, the U.S. Secret Service stated they are not only holders but also enthusiasts of cryptocurrency.
During the AMA, one Reddit user asked if the U.S. Secret Service would consider launching their own "memecoin." The agency responded that they have already launched their own NFT collection on OpenSea. According to the OpenSea page, this NFT collection is named "United States Secret Service San Francisco Field Office" and was created in October 2022.
