TechFlow News — Ethereum's Layer 2 scaling solution Optimism announced that its mainnet Bedrock will undergo an upgrade on June 7. During the upgrade, the OP mainnet will be offline for 2 to 4 hours. Transactions, deposits, and withdrawals will be unavailable, and the OP mainnet will be temporarily suspended. Node operators will need to deploy a brand-new node setup for Bedrock.
Reportedly, Bedrock is a next-generation decentralized Rollup architecture developed by OP Labs, designed to provide modularity, simplicity, and Ethereum equivalence for Layer 2 networks. Additionally, Bedrock will enhance the security and resilience of the OP mainnet’s cross-chain bridge.
