TechFlow news: Meta's Reality Labs division, responsible for the metaverse, incurred a loss of $4 billion in the first quarter of this year. Meta expects not only continued losses throughout the year but also that this year's losses will exceed those of 2022.
Reality Labs posted total annual losses of over $13.7 billion in 2022.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that despite significantly more discussion about artificial intelligence during today's earnings call, claims that Meta is moving away from the metaverse are incorrect.
