TechFlow news: The Ethereum liquid staking protocol Rocket Pool will undergo the Atlas upgrade on April 13, enabling node staking with just 8 ETH (subject to Rocket Pool requirements). Key features of this Atlas upgrade include improved protocol efficiency, higher rewards distribution for node operators, increased rETH capacity, and continued full permissionless access.
The most important feature of Atlas is Rocket Pool's validator node Minipools LEB8s. Currently, when a node operator wishes to create a minipool, they must deposit 16 ETH and receive 16 ETH from the protocol, meaning a 32-ETH staking validator is created on Ethereum. With the introduction of LEB8, this required amount will be reduced from 16 ETH to 8 ETH.
