TechFlow news — The Helium Foundation has announced that the Helium Network will begin migrating to Solana starting March 27. To ensure a smooth transition, the Helium Foundation is forming an upgrade preparation task force composed of community volunteers to oversee the migration process. This task force holds final authority over the migration date. Migration documentation is now available at docs.helium.com, segmented by audience and continuously updated. Most hotspot owners and token holders (i.e., HNT and MOBILE) do not need to take any action to participate in the upgrade. However, users still using the original Helium Hotspot App (blue icon) must upgrade to the new Helium Wallet App (black icon).
Previously, Helium founder Amir Haleem stated that they would still abide by the outcome of HIP-70, which proposes moving Helium onto the Solana network. Amir Haleem emphasized that the criteria for evaluating Layer 1 blockchains have remained unchanged since HIP-70 was proposed, and market downturns are not factors in this decision. Source link
