TechFlow news — The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced today the successful issuance of HK$800 million in tokenized green bonds under its Government Green Bond Programme (Green Bond Programme). This marks one of the world's first tokenized green bonds issued by a government.
The issuance was underwritten by four banks, with two of them serving as investor custodians. The Hong Kong Monetary Authority's Central Moneymarkets Unit (CMU) acted as the settlement and delivery system for the bonds, while the platform used was Goldman Sachs' tokenization platform, GS DAP.
