TechFlow news — Eddy Lazzarin, Head of Data Science and Engineering at a16z's crypto investment team, tweeted that a16z Crypto has fully delegated approximately 40 million UNI voting rights to external groups (with no conditions on how they vote), while using 15 million UNI for direct voting (less than half the amount delegated to others). a16z has already voted on 11 other proposals and is one of the most active members in the Uniswap community. "The reason for delegating votes is to achieve broader perspectives, less centralized voting power, and greater community participation."
As previously reported, blockchain data firm Bubblemaps tweeted that a16z could control 41.5 million UNI across 11 addresses, accounting for over 4% (4.15%) of the total UNI supply—the threshold required to pass any proposal. Among these, nine wallets each hold 0.25% of the supply (2.5 million UNI), meeting the minimum requirement to submit a Uniswap governance proposal.
Previously, a16z used all 15 million of its UNI tokens to oppose OxPlasma Labs' proposal to "deploy Uniswap V3 on BNB Chain." a16z partner Eddie Lazzarin stated, "If technically feasible, we would have cast our 15 million tokens in favor of LayerZero."Original link
