TechFlow news — On December 9, Justin Sun, founder of TRON and member of Huobi Global Advisory Council, stated during an online livestream that TRON will continue strengthening cooperation with sovereign nations, aiming to have TRON-based tokens recognized as legal tender in metaverse-supporting countries and expanding the number of decentralized metaverse citizens. Recently, TRON has entered into a series of historic collaborations with the Commonwealth of Dominica, which became the first country to establish a "nation" within the metaverse. Justin Sun said TRON would continue driving its over 100 million users to become metaverse citizens. He also teased that TRON would soon form similar partnerships with additional sovereign nations.
Sun predicted that next year, more than 10 countries will support metaverse identities, and within the next five years, this number will exceed 50.
As of now, the total number of TRON accounts has officially surpassed 126 million. Under Sun's leadership, TRON has been designated as Dominica’s "national public blockchain," and seven TRON-based tokens, including TRX, have become official legal digital currencies of Dominica. Recently, TRON was authorized to issue the national token DMC and digital identity DID. According to Sun, over 150,000 people have applied for Dominica’s digital identity—more than twice the population of Dominica itself.
