The original poster and disseminator of this message was blockchain developer @cygaar, a contributor to the ERC-721A token standard. He later clarified in a follow-up post that the "WETH de-peg" claim was actually a "shitpost" intended to "see who's actually reading my content."
Prior to this, @cygaar had posted a tweet stating that WETH would never de-peg, emphasizing that WETH will always maintain a 1:1 swap ratio with ETH. He noted that the mechanism is based on simple code and logic, requiring only about 60 lines of code to implement.Source link
