TechFlow news, according to Yahoo Japan, Japanese mobile carrier giant NTT Docomo will invest up to 600 billion yen ($4 billion) in developing next-generation internet technology Web3.
NTT Docomo will establish a new company focused on Web3, which will begin operations from the 2023 fiscal year. The company plans to allocate between 500 billion and 600 billion yen to develop Web3-related infrastructure and services, primarily based on blockchain technology. This is not NTT Docomo's first move into Web3. Earlier this year, the company announced the creation of NTT Qonoq, a division dedicated to the metaverse, comprising around 200 employees.
