TechFlow news, according to an official announcement, Harmony has selected LayerZero, the omnichain interoperability protocol, as its partner for restoring the Horizon Bridge. Harmony has replaced the previous multi-signature validation layer with LayerZero's proving layer, eliminating the need to run or maintain any backend infrastructure.
In terms of assets, Harmony will support bridging stablecoins including USDC, USDT, DAI, BUSD, and FRAX, as well as assets such as ETH, WBTC, AAG, FXS, (x)SUSHI, and AAVE on Ethereum. On BNB Chain, it will initially support bridging BNB and BUSD. The native ONE token can also be bridged to Ethereum and BNB Chain as before. Additionally, adding support for new assets or previously existing ones is not permissionless and requires additional deployment work by the Harmony bridging team. Harmony will gradually expand support for more assets based on demand and partner requirements.
