TechFlow news — At the eighth Blockchain Global Summit hosted by Wanxiang Blockchain Labs, Zhang Ye, co-founder of Scroll, delivered a keynote speech titled "The Design and Architecture of Scroll." Scroll is building an EVM-equivalent ZK Rollup whose design principles follow security, efficiency, EVM equivalence, and decentralization. Its architecture consists of three components: Scroll nodes, on-chain smart contracts, and a decentralized network of provers.
Zhang Ye stated that Scroll has already completed its pre-alpha testnet. In the next phase, developers will be invited to deploy smart contracts and build additional applications on the network. The third phase will involve outsourcing Layer 2 proofs, inviting community members to participate as proof nodes. The fourth phase will reach the zkEVM mainnet stage, where the mainnet will be deployed and launched after rigorous code audits and performance optimizations. In the fifth phase, a decentralized sequencer will be deployed to further enhance the efficiency of zkEVM.
