TechFlow News — Binance has released an announcement titled "Support for the Ethereum Merge Plan," stating that the Ethereum Bellatrix upgrade and the Merge are expected to occur at 19:34:47 on September 6 and 08:30 on September 15, Beijing time. During this period, Binance will suspend deposits and withdrawals of ETH and ERC-20 tokens. If no new token is generated after the hard fork, Binance will resume ETH and ERC-20 deposit and withdrawal services as soon as possible, with a separate notice to follow.
If the hard fork results in two competing blockchains and a new token is created, the ticker “ETH” will be assigned to the Ethereum PoS chain. Binance will also distribute the forked token to users based on their ETH holdings snapshot taken prior to the execution layer upgrade (expected at Ethereum mainnet block height 1,554,0293 or 08:30, Beijing time, September 15), at a 1:1 ratio, from the chain with less work completed. Binance will support withdrawals for the forked token, and further details regarding distribution will be announced separately.Source link
