TechFlow News — Antoni Martin, head of enterprise at Polygon, delivered a keynote speech at EY's Global Blockchain Summit 2022, introducing Polygon Nightfall, a zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) solution designed to provide privacy protection for companies looking to leverage the Ethereum blockchain.
According to Martin’s presentation, Polygon Nightfall processes transactions eight times faster than Ethereum’s base layer and transfers non-private ERC-20 tokens at one-sixth the cost, while remaining fully transparent. Nightfall is one of Polygon’s four scalability solutions, alongside Polygon Hermez, Polygon Miden, and Polygon Zero. Unlike the other three, Nightfall is specifically designed as a privacy-enhancing solution.
As previously reported, in May this year, Polygon announced it was collaborating with EY to launch Polygon Nightfall—a Layer 2 rollup solution tailored for enterprises—on the mainnet.
