TechFlow news, London-based trading app Lightyear has raised $25 million in a Series A funding round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation from Richard Branson's Virgin Group, Mosaic Ventures, Taavet+Sen, and Metaplanet.
Reportedly founded by former Wise employees, Lightyear launched last year in the UK market as a trading application offering multi-currency accounts, enabling users to purchase international stocks at lower commissions than competitors. The company also announced its expansion into 19 EU countries.
