TechFlow News – On July 8, Binance announced that its Spanish entity, "Moon Tech Spain, S.L.", has been registered as a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) with the Bank of Spain. Binance will now be able to offer cryptocurrency trading and custody services in Spain in compliance with the central bank’s anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing (AML/CTF) requirements. Moon Tech Spain was registered on July 7, 2022, following its registration application submitted on January 28, 2022. This marks another milestone after Binance's local entities were registered in France and Italy, further demonstrating the robustness of Binance's AML and CTF controls. Binance founder and CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) said: "Effective regulation is critical for broad adoption of cryptocurrency. We have made significant investments in compliance and implemented tools and policies aligned with AMLD 5 and 6 to ensure our platform remains among the most secure and trusted in the industry. The registration of Moon Tech in Spain is a recognition of our team's hard work and Binance’s commitment to building a platform where user protection comes first."
