TechFlow news — StarkNet, the Ethereum Rollup scaling solution, has announced it will perform a state reset and relaunch a more mature version of StarkNet on the Ethereum mainnet, aiming for maximum simplicity and security. StarkNet stated that StarkNet Alpha was released before everything was fully refined, and this state reset will eliminate all redundant code and processes from the StarkNet operating system and protocols. This is the Final State Reset (FSR), intended to be the last state reset before StarkNet exits the Alpha phase and moves into full production. The FSR is expected to take place in Q4 2022.
StarkNet noted that a new, leaner version of StarkNet Alpha will be deployed, restarting with a fresh state. This means all contracts and accounts will need to be redeployed in the new instance, and assets will have to be migrated from the old StarkNet Alpha to the new one.
