TechFlow news — Swave, a holographic technology developer for the metaverse, has announced the completion of a €7 million seed funding round. The investment was led by venture capital fund imec.xpand, with participation from public investment fund Flanders Future Techfund (FFTF) and Belgian university venture fund QBIC.
Theodore Marescaux, CEO and founder of Swave, said the company's vision is to build fundamental holographic technology that brings the metaverse into everyday life and work, ultimately replacing current AR/VR headsets by delivering realistic, immersive virtual experiences that feel physically present.
Peter Vanbekbergen, Partner at imec.xpand, believes Swave’s gigapixel holographic technology has the potential to disrupt the current $93 billion AR/VR-based metaverse market. (Businesswire)
