TechFlow news — Uniswap Labs has announced the acquisition of NFT aggregation marketplace Genie. Specific terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Uniswap Labs stated that this acquisition will integrate NFTs into its product suite, starting with the Uniswap web app. Users will soon be able to buy and sell NFTs on its marketplace. Uniswap Labs also plans to integrate NFTs into developer APIs and widgets.
Additionally, Uniswap Labs plans to airdrop USDC to Genie’s historical users. The airdrop will launch in August and claims will be available within 12 months based on a previously taken snapshot.
Uniswap Labs emphasized that this acquisition was conducted by Uniswap Labs and has no impact on the Uniswap protocol, Uniswap governance, or the UNI token. Until the new Uniswap NFT experience becomes available, Genie users will continue to have access to services on the Genie website.
