TechFlow news, after meeting with Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, President Surangel S. Whipps, Jr. of the Republic of Palau announced the launch of a digital resident ID NFT on the BNB BAS Chain via the RNS.ID platform. This NFT will enable users to perform online digital local KYC and gain access to various services requiring government-issued IDs. This will become the world's first government-backed blockchain identity. Both parties also discussed digital sovereignty and Palau’s Web3 initiatives.
Notably, the RNS.ID NFT is developed using zero-knowledge proof technology, with planned use cases including address verification, KYC validation, access to digital banking, legally verified on-chain signatures, digital company registration services, and other potential applications such as asset ownership and insurance.
