TechFlow news — On May 11, Binance announced the appointment of Joshua Eaton, former Deputy U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of California, as its Deputy General Counsel. Eaton will lead Binance's legal department, supporting global compliance, investigations, and cooperation with law enforcement activities. Eaton holds a Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco School of Law and served over 20 years in the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Army, providing guidance to presidentially appointed prosecutors across the United States, as well as U.S. Army commanders domestically and abroad.
Eaton previously served as an attorney and senior staff officer in the U.S. Army, later becoming a prosecutor at the U.S. Department of Justice. His advisory work covered operational and enforcement issues under U.S. federal and international law, including some of the most complex and sensitive operations, investigations, litigations, policies, and programs within the U.S. Army and Department of Justice. Binance’s General Counsel, Hon Ng, said: “Josh’s arrival brings energy and experience to Binance’s legal team, further enhancing our ability to protect users and manage risks.”
