TechFlow news — According to TheDefiant, the ZPrize innovation competition for zero-knowledge proofs launched on April 19. Twenty-one Web3 organizations, including the Ethereum Foundation, Polkadot, Polygon, and Mina, are jointly offering $7 million in prize money, while AMD-Xilinx will provide high-performance computing equipment to participating teams.
In its announcement, ZPrize stated that participating teams will aim to build "novel algorithms and techniques achieving performance metrics unmatched by today’s best-in-class zero-knowledge systems." Winners will be required to open-source their projects so other developers can integrate these breakthroughs into their own work. Zero-knowledge proofs are a privacy-preserving scaling technology used in blockchain transactions, enabling parties to validate transactions without revealing any data beyond time and date—only the counterparty can view details such as wallet addresses and transferred assets.
