TechFlow news — Lido Finance announced on Twitter that a proposal to fund the Protocol Guild, a token compensation program for Ethereum core contributors via the Lido Grant, has been approved. The grant will allocate 2 million LDO tokens to support contributors to the Ethereum protocol.
According to details previously disclosed by Ethereum core developer Tim Beiko, Protocol Guild is a program designed to provide token-based compensation to client developers and researchers, currently comprising over 100 members. Protocol Guild could serve as a foundational layer complementing initiatives like Gitcoin and retroactive public goods funding. Unlike basic income or incentive programs, Protocol Guild aims to distribute tokens from various Ethereum-based projects to its members, rather than ETH.
