TechFlow news — On April 12, Circle, the issuer of USDC, announced a new $400 million funding round, with participation from BlackRock, Fidelity, Marshall Wace, and Fin Capital. The financing is expected to be completed in the second quarter. In addition to serving as a key manager of USDC's cash reserve assets and strategic investor, BlackRock will also collaborate with Circle to explore applications of USDC in capital markets. "Dollar digital currencies like USDC are driving a transformation in the global economy, and Circle's technology infrastructure is at the heart of this change," said Jeremy Allaire, co-founder of Circle. "BlackRock has joined us as a strategic investor, and we look forward to expanding our partnership."
