TechFlow News — Community Gaming, an esports tournament platform exploring P2E gaming, has announced a $16 million Series A funding round led by SB Opportunity Fund, a fund under SoftBank Group. Participants include Animoca Brands, Binance Labs, BITKRAFT Ventures, Griffin Gaming Partners, CoinFund, Hashed, Multicoin Capital, Shima Capital, Polygon Studios, and ConsenSys Mesh, along with angel investors Jeff Zirlin, co-founder of Axie Infinity, and Gabby Dizon, co-founder of Yield Guild Games.
Originally a provider of in-person esports and gaming tournaments serving organizers and players at all levels, Community Gaming transitioned in 2019 to an online hybrid platform, leveraging blockchain-based smart contracts to deliver competitive gaming experiences from registration to instant payouts. Following the Series A funding, Community Gaming will expand its platform offerings and plans to introduce gamified tasks within its system later this year, enabling users to earn additional income on-chain.
