TechFlow news, March 31 — Blockchain.com, a cryptocurrency wallet developer and exchange platform, has recently completed a new funding round at a $14 billion valuation, though the exact amount raised was not disclosed. The round was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation from Baillie Gifford & Co.
Founded in 2011, Blockchain.com primarily operates blockchain explorers, cryptocurrency wallets, and an exchange, while also offering institutional clients a range of solutions including asset custody and lending services. Its venture arm, Blockchain Ventures, has invested in dozens of projects such as Securitize, Aave, and Near. According to its website, the company serves 37 million verified users, has generated 82 million wallet addresses, and has facilitated over $1 trillion in transactions.
In February and March 2021, the platform completed two funding rounds raising $120 million and $300 million respectively. In the March round, Blockchain.com was valued at $5.2 billion, with lead investors including DST Global, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and VY Capital.
