TechFlow News — Yuga Labs, the parent company of the NFT project Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), has announced its official acquisition of CryptoPunks and Meebits. "This means we now own the brands, artwork copyrights, and other intellectual property rights for both collections, along with 423 CryptoPunks and 1,711 Meebits," the announcement stated. "The first thing we're doing is fully empowering NFT holders with commercial rights."
"By transferring these rights, we are further aligning CryptoPunks and Meebits with the spirit of web3. We hope that a broad range of third-party developers and community creators will incorporate CryptoPunks and Meebits into their web3 projects. We will build the entire brand alongside them," the announcement added.
