TechFlow News, February 2 — FTX announced the acquisition of Quoine, a cryptocurrency exchange registered with Japan's Financial Services Agency (FSA), and its parent company Liquid, to offer products and services to Japanese customers. According to the terms, the acquisition is expected to be completed in March 2022.
Quoine, founded in 2014, was one of the first cryptocurrency exchanges registered with Japan’s Financial Services Agency in 2017. In October 2021, Quoine was registered by the FSA as a Type-1 Financial Instruments Business and has continued providing derivative trading services to its clients. Following the acquisition by FTX, Quoine will gradually integrate FTX’s products and services into its platform, and FTX’s existing Japanese customers will be migrated to Quoine’s platform.
