TechFlow news — On January 19, Octopus Network completed Milestone 1 of the Astar/Shiden IBC Bridge grant proposal initiated by Astar, helping Shiden Network enable the IBC protocol and achieve cross-chain communication between Shiden Network and Cosmos. The project was launched on September 28, 2021, and plans to achieve three milestones, ultimately building a cross-chain bridge between the Substrate-based Astar/Shiden Network and Cosmos chains, enabling two-way transfer and receipt of interchangeable crypto assets while maintaining a 1:1 peg across chains according to IBC's ICS20 standard. With this integration, Astar/Shiden Network will become the first parachain in the Kusama and Polkadot ecosystems with IBC interoperability. Octopus Network is a multi-chain network protocol built on the "fat hub" logic, and cross-chain interoperability between Substrate application chains and the Cosmos ecosystem is an essential component of the Octopus multi-chain network. We welcome blockchains built on Substrate to join Octopus Network in co-building a more open, fair, and secure next-generation internet—Web3.0.
