TechFlow News — Cryptocurrency wallet MetaMask recently held a community call revealing potential plans for a token launch.
According to team members, they are conducting internal evaluations to identify a "compelling use case" for developing and launching a token. Senior software engineer Erik Marks stated that the project is “absolutely open” to the idea of introducing a cryptocurrency token to make the project community-owned.
At the same time, he expressed concerns that the potential for post-launch price surges and crashes could hinder such plans. While the team is considering strategies for token distribution and airdrops, no concrete plans or strategies have been finalized yet.
In addition to the tentative token issuance plans, the MetaMask team is also developing new features to enable asset bridging across different blockchains and Layer 2 solutions.
