TechFlow News — Defi Education Fund, a DeFi education organization that previously received 1 million UNI from the Uniswap treasury, sold 500,000 UNI 10 hours ago for 10.2 million USDC to fund its operations and plans to sell the remaining 500,000 UNI within the next 24 hours.
In mid-June, a proposal on the Uniswap governance portal suggested allocating 1 million UNI to establish and fund the nonprofit entity DeFi Education Fund, primarily aimed at clarifying and advancing regulatory and legal frameworks related to DeFi. The proposed initial board included seven members, such as Larry Sukernik, co-founder of Reverie; Rebecca Rettig, General Counsel of Aave; Jake Chervinsky, General Counsel of Compound; and Marvin Ammori, Chief Legal Officer of Uniswap Labs.
However, investors have raised concerns, noting that 99% of the voting power came from just four Ethereum addresses. The organization's Twitter account was created only in June. Sina Weibo user "0xuelai" commented that essentially the voters were all from the same group—meaning they voted to approve funding for themselves.
