TechFlow news — The Bitcoin Mining Council (BMC) today released the results of its first quarterly survey, focusing on two key metrics: power consumption and sustainable energy mix. The BMC revealed that in its initial voluntary survey, it collected sustainability data from over 32% of the global Bitcoin network. The survey results show that BMC members and participating entities currently utilize a sustainable energy mix of 67%. Based on this data, it is estimated that during the second quarter of 2021, the global Bitcoin mining industry’s sustainable energy mix reached approximately 56%, making it one of the most sustainable industries worldwide.
