According to news from Cailian Press, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and the Cyberspace Administration of China jointly issued guidelines on accelerating the application and industrial development of blockchain technology. The guidelines propose that by 2025, the comprehensive strength of the blockchain industry should reach an advanced global level, with the industry taking initial shape. Three to five backbone enterprises with international competitiveness and a number of innovation-driven companies will be cultivated, along with the establishment of three to five blockchain industrial clusters. A preliminary blockchain standard system will also be established. By 2030, the overall capabilities of the blockchain industry will continue to strengthen, and its scale will further expand. Blockchain will become a key enabler in building a strong manufacturing nation and cyber power, developing the digital economy, and achieving modernization in national governance systems and capabilities.
The "Guidelines" call for cultivating renowned blockchain products, enterprises, and industrial parks, fostering an open-source ecosystem, and simultaneously addressing weaknesses and strengthening advantages to accelerate the creation of a complete blockchain industry chain. Specific measures include building sector-level consortium blockchains and launching a series of technologically advanced, highly influential blockchain "flagship products"; nurturing internationally competitive blockchain "flagship enterprises," supporting startups, and encouraging the growth of unicorn companies; applying the concept of "regulatory sandboxes" to establish blockchain pilot zones, and supporting qualified industrial parks to develop into blockchain "model parks."
