TechFlow news, according to the Wall Street Journal on November 7, Biden is considering hiring Gary Gensler to advise on Wall Street regulation. Biden has remained largely silent on nearly all matters related to cryptocurrency, but Gensler, a former Goldman Sachs executive and chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, is deeply familiar with the broad applications of crypto technology and also serves as a senior advisor to MIT Media Lab's Digital Currency Initiative.
During Obama's administration, Gensler led efforts to reform the derivatives market in accordance with the 2010 Dodd-Frank Act and brought lawsuits against major investment banks for manipulating the London interbank offered rate (Libor).
