TechFlow News — According to the "Crypto Outlook Report for Q4 2020" authored by Mike McGlone, senior commodity strategist at Bloomberg, Tether (USDT) is likely to surpass Ethereum (ETH) in market capitalization and become the second-largest cryptocurrency globally by 2021. The report highlights that ETH has experienced "stagnant market cap growth," currently standing at $43.2 billion, having remained below $30 billion for most of 2019 and 2020 prior to a DeFi-driven boost in late July. In contrast, USDT's market cap has grown steadily since 2017, with only one significant decline in October 2018. Starting the year at $4.1 billion, USDT’s market cap "rose rapidly" to $15.7 billion by October 2020.
