Wilson received the award for "improvements to auction theory and inventions of new auction formats." The two will share the prize amounting to 10 million Swedish kronor. Notably, on September 22, blockchain project Algorand announced that Paul Milgrom, a member of both the National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and a professor at Stanford University, had been appointed as an advisor to the company.
