TechFlow news — Recently, police in Lucheng District, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province cracked a drug trafficking case involving cryptocurrency, criminally detaining four suspects and seizing 16 kilograms of processed marijuana.
At the end of 2019, the Lucheng Cybersecurity Brigade of Wenzhou City discovered during routine monitoring that someone was openly selling marijuana on an online forum. The Wenzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau's Cybersecurity支队, Lucheng Cybersecurity Brigade, and Lucheng Narcotics Control Brigade promptly formed a joint task force to investigate this drug-related lead.
Through investigation, the task force successfully identified Huang, a man residing in Jiangyin, Jiangsu Province, as the suspect. On the afternoon of May 7, with strong support from local police, officers arrested suspect Huang at a factory in Zhutang Town, Jiangyin, Jiangsu. At his residence, they seized marijuana, marijuana seeds, cultivation tools, as well as computers and mobile phones used in the crime.
Huang admitted that he communicated with his supplier through private messages on the forum and conducted transactions using cryptocurrency, adding that the supplier likely operated a large-scale marijuana cultivation site.
