TechFlow reports on October 5 that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has filed a lawsuit against John McAfee for promoting seven ICOs without disclosing compensation. According to the SEC, from at least November 2017 through February 2018, McAfee leveraged his fame to recommend ICOs to his Twitter followers and received more than $23.1 million in undisclosed payments. The charges involve the offer and sale of digital asset securities, and McAfee's recommendations were materially false and misleading for multiple reasons. (The Block)
