Polkadot founder Gavin Wood published a new blog post announcing that Polkadot's first on-chain governance vote is about to begin. In the coming days, Polkadot will launch a binding vote to decide whether to rename its native token DOT. The vote will offer four options (multiple choices allowed), be accessible via wallets and other means, and last for two weeks. The four options are: 1. No change from the original 2017 sale definition, meaning 10 million DOT in total supply from genesis; 2. A 10x split from the initial sale, resulting in a total supply of 100 million DOT; 3. A 100x split from the initial sale, resulting in a total supply of 1 billion DOT; 4. A 1000x split from the initial sale, resulting in a total supply of 10 billion DOT.
