South Korea's Financial Services Commission plans to further raise the threshold for single-stock leveraged products; retail investors may be prohibited from participating
According to the Seoul Economic Daily, Korea Financial Services Commission (FSC) Chairman Lee Bok-hyun stated that regulatory authorities are studying a proposal to further raise the investment threshold for single-stock leveraged products. Future restrictions on investment qualifications cannot be ruled out; retail investors may be prohibited from participating, with access limited to professional investors only.
TechFlow news, July 29, according to Seoul Economic Daily, South Korea's Financial Services Commission (FSC) Chairman Lee Yi-won stated that regulatory authorities are studying a plan to raise the investment threshold for single-stock leveraged products again, and do not rule out restricting investment qualifications in the future; ordinary investors may be prohibited from participating, limited to professional investors only.
According to South Korea's "Financial Consumer Protection Act", investors are currently divided into ordinary investors and professional investors, among which professional investors usually need to meet conditions such as assets, income, and investment experience, for example, having an average month-end balance of financial investment products of at least 50 million Korean won for at least one year within the past 5 years, and meet relevant qualification requirements.
