TechFlow reports, July 22, SoftBank Group stated on Wednesday that it will begin operating a new information platform named GaranAI, obtaining article data from news agencies and publishers, and processing it into data usable for generative artificial intelligence. Content creators including Mainichi Shimbun, Sankei Shimbun, Kyodo News, and some local newspapers will provide content to GaranAI and receive corresponding compensation.
SoftBank will convert the content into data formats that are difficult to restore to their original form, subsequently further processing it into data easier for AI to use, and then selling it to AI developers to help improve the accuracy of AI responses to user questions. SoftBank released a trial version of the platform on Wednesday and began accepting applications from AI developers. The operators plan to continue improving the platform over the next six months and launch the official version in January next year or later. The company also plans to expand the platform's scope to enable it to receive copyrighted content from a wider range of fields. (Jin10)
