TechFlow News, May 31: According to CCTV News, on May 30 local time, U.S. President Donald Trump stated during an interview aired that evening on Fox News that the United States and Iran are now “very close” to reaching “a very good deal.” Trump added in the same interview that “we’re going to get a better deal,” and that “this should have happened faster.” However, he also warned that if no agreement is reached, he would call upon the “Department of War”—i.e., the U.S. Department of Defense—to intervene. Trump said, “If I don’t get what I want, we’ll end it another way.” He further noted that signing such an agreement would ensure freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and guarantee that Iran does not acquire nuclear weapons. Regarding negotiations with Iran, Trump emphasized that he is “not in a rush,” adding, “If you’re in a rush, you can’t make a good deal.”
