TechFlow News, May 30: According to Front Office Sports, former NBA player Tristan Thompson has filed a lawsuit against World Mobile Group, accusing the company of prematurely terminating their WMTX token brand ambassador agreement and continuing to use his name, likeness, and personal image for promotional purposes without authorization after the agreement’s termination.
According to the complaint, the original agreement had a two-year term, under which Thompson was entitled to receive up to $1 million in WMTX tokens annually—up to a total of $2 million—as compensation for promoting the WMTX token.
World Mobile claims the agreement was terminated due to Thompson’s failure to return excess tokens that had been issued to him, as well as his sale of WMTX tokens.
At present, both parties hold opposing positions. The allegations have not yet been adjudicated by the court, and the case remains pending further proceedings.
