TechFlow reports that on May 30, ChatGPT recently launched a conversation table-of-contents navigation feature to improve information retrieval in long-conversation scenarios.
When a single conversation accumulates five or more replies, the system automatically generates a table-of-contents structure based on the discussion content. Users can quickly navigate to different topics and sections via this table of contents, eliminating the need to repeatedly scroll through historical messages.
This feature primarily targets long-conversation use cases such as in-depth research, long-form writing, project collaboration, and complex Q&A—aiming to enhance information organization efficiency and content navigation experience. As the volume of information carried within a single conversation continues to grow, the table-of-contents navigation feature is expected to further reduce the cost for users to browse and manage lengthy contextual content.
