TechFlow News, May 30: The U.S. Department of the Treasury announced a new round of sanctions against Iran. As part of “Operation Economic Fury,” several individuals and entities linked to Iran have been added to the sanctions list to further intensify economic pressure on Iran.
The U.S. Department of the Treasury stated that its Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), in coordination with the U.S. Department of Commerce and the FBI’s Los Angeles Field Office, has taken action against an Iranian procurement network. This network is alleged to have acquired goods from U.S. companies through identity concealment and fraudulent means, subsequently supplying them to Iran’s Ministry of Defense and other sanctioned entities.
According to Iranian sources, this round of sanctions targets eight individuals and five entities.
