TechFlow News, May 27: According to CoinDesk, Mastercard Transaction Services (U.S.) LLC, a subsidiary of Mastercard, has obtained a BitLicense from the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS), becoming one of the few institutions to receive this license. Earlier this month, Galaxy received approval, and Strike secured its license in March of this year.
Introduced in 2015, the New York BitLicense is one of the most stringent cryptocurrency regulatory frameworks in the United States, requiring licensed entities to meet rigorous standards—including capital reserves, cybersecurity, compliance, and consumer protection—and to undergo ongoing supervision.
