TechFlow News, May 27: Cryptocurrency journalist Eleanor Terrett reported that Christian Menefee, a pro-crypto Democratic representative, defeated incumbent Representative Al Green—whose tenure spanned two decades—in the Democratic runoff primary for Texas’s 18th congressional district (TX-18).
In this election, pro-crypto super PACs invested millions of dollars. Fairshake and its affiliated organizations collectively spent approximately $6.5 million, with the majority supporting Menefee and a smaller portion opposing Green.
Previously, Green received an “F” rating from Stand With Crypto due to his opposition to legislation including the GENIUS Act and the Clarity Act. Fairshake stated it will continue actively supporting leaders like Menefee across the United States.
