TechFlow News, May 26: Thai authorities have confirmed that the remains of Russian crypto investor Maxim Garbuzov—previously reported missing—have been located at an unclaimed foreigners’ communal burial site in Bangkok. According to the head of a volunteer organization, Garbuzov died from a fall from height inside the hotel where he was staying.
The report states that the search was delayed by nearly five months due to police erroneously recording his surname in registration documents. His family and volunteers are now pursuing procedures to exhume the remains, with plans to cremate them and repatriate the ashes to Saint Petersburg. Garbuzov had long resided in Pattaya, where he engaged in cryptocurrency investment and financial operations related to exchanges.
