TechFlow News, May 21: According to sources familiar with the matter, U.S. President Trump is expected to issue an executive order as early as Thursday aimed at strengthening cybersecurity for artificial intelligence. Tech industry leaders have been invited to attend the signing ceremony. As previously reported by media outlets, the order is expected to amend the existing Cybersecurity Information Sharing Program to include AI companies—but will not mandate federal government approval of cutting-edge AI models. Instead, the order will call on the government to conduct voluntary testing of frontier AI systems to identify and patch vulnerabilities in federal, state, and local networks as well as U.S. critical infrastructure—without imposing broad new regulatory requirements. Sources said invitations have been extended to multiple tech industry executives to attend the signing ceremony at the White House on Thursday, though it remains unclear who will attend. (Jinshi)
