TechFlow News, May 8: On Wednesday, Eastern Time, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang praised the company’s new collaboration with Corning in an interview, calling it a significant opportunity for rebuilding America’s technology supply chain. Huang stated that next-generation AI infrastructure will require massive optical interconnects, as computing demands are growing so rapidly that copper wiring can no longer keep up. “We will scale optical technology to an unprecedented degree—frankly, no optical company has ever operated at this scale,” Huang said.
Huang also noted that the benefits of the current wave of AI investment extend far beyond tech companies. He pointed out surging demand for electricians, construction workers, semiconductor manufacturing personnel, and data center infrastructure specialists—an unmistakable sign that this build-out is already permeating the broader economy.
